Racking/Shelving
Are shelf boards included with the shelving brackets?
No. Our shelving products are supplied as brackets only unless otherwise stated in the product description. Shelf boards are not included, allowing you to choose the material and dimensions that best suit your storage requirements.
What shelving configurations do you offer?
We offer a range of shipping container shelving and storage solutions, including 1-tier, 2 tier, 3 tier shelving systems, as well as pipe racking options (1 Tier & 4 Tier). We also now offer our Adjustable Shelving Brackets (Set of 2), which provide greater flexibility and can be configured as shelving, pipe racking, a workbench, or a custom storage solution to suit your specific requirements.
Will the shelving damage my container?
No. Our shelving and racking systems are designed to hook directly onto the container's existing D-rings, meaning no drilling, welding, or permanent modifications are required. Installation is quick and straightforward, with most systems taking just a few minutes to assemble and fit.
How much weight can your shelving brackets hold?
Most of our shelving brackets are rated to hold up to 500kg per bracket. However, load capacities can vary between products, so we recommend checking the individual product description for the specific load rating before use. Always ensure the shelving is installed correctly and the load is distributed evenly.
Twistlocks
How many stacking pins do I need to stack two containers?
We recommend using 4 stacking pins, one in each corner, to securely connect and stabilise stacked shipping containers.
What is the benefit of using Twistlock Stacking Pins?
Twistlock stacking pins help improve container stability, reduce movement between stacked containers, and provide a safer and more secure stacking solution.
How is the Twistlock Safety Post secured to the container?
The Safety Post features a Twistlock design that fits securely into the ISO corner casting, providing a stable mounting point for safety rails or barrier systems.
Container Wheels
What is the load capacity of the Side Mounted Fixed Container Wheel?
Each Fixed Side-Mounted Container Wheel has a load capacity of 1,800kg (1.8 tonnes). When used as part of a complete wheel system, always ensure the total container weight is within the combined safe working load of all wheels fitted.
What is the difference between Fixed Wheels and Swivel Wheels?
Swivel wheels can rotate 360 degrees, allowing the container to be steered and manoeuvred easily around corners and tight spaces. Side Mounted Fixed Wheels do not rotate and are designed to travel in a straight line, providing stability and directional control during towing. For the best results, fixed wheels are typically fitted at the rear of the container and used alongside front swivel wheels.
What is a self-lifting jack set used for?
Our self lifting jack set allows a shipping container to be lifted and moved in a similar way to a pallet truck. Once attached to the container corner castings, the hydraulic jacks raise the container off the ground, allowing it to be manoeuvred around a site with ease.
How much weight can the Shipping Container Swivel Caster Wheel support?
Each Swivel Caster Wheel has a load capacity of 3,000kg (3 tonnes), making them suitable for moving heavy shipping containers and container conversions. While four wheels provide a theoretical combined capacity of 12,000kg, we recommend a maximum container weight of 6,000kg (6 tonnes), as ground surfaces are rarely perfectly level and two wheels will often carry a greater proportion of the load during movement. Always ensure the weight is distributed as evenly as possible.
Container Ramps
Will this ramp fit my shipping container?
We offer several container ramp sizes to suit different container floor heights, including 11cm, 15cm, 16cm, and 19cm options. The 15cm ramp is suitable for most standard shipping containers, while other sizes are available for containers positioned at different heights. Please measure the height from the ground to the container floor and refer to the product description to select the correct ramp.
What is the difference between the standard and long container ramps?
Our long container ramps have a longer incline than our standard ramps, creating a gentler loading angle. This makes them more durable and better suited to heavier loads and frequent use. Long container ramps are available in 15cm and 19cm heights.
What ramp sizes do you offer?
We offer standard plastic container ramps in 11cm, 15cm, 16cm, and 19cm heights. Our long container ramps are available in 15cm and 19cm heights for customers requiring a gentler loading angle and increased durability.
What load can the container ramps support?
Our standard plastic container ramps are rated for up to 1 ton of centralised load. Our long container ramps are rated for loads of up to 2 tons. However, to maximise product lifespan and ensure safe operation, we recommend keeping loads to 1.5 tons or below where possible. Always ensure the load is distributed evenly across the ramp during use.
Container Ventilation & Condensation Control
What does the Container Guard Moisture Trap do?
The Container Guard Moisture Trap is designed to absorb excess moisture from the air inside a shipping container, helping to reduce condensation, damp, mould, mildew, and moisture-related damage to stored goods.
How many Container Guard Moisture Traps do I need?
To get the best results, the number of traps you’ll need depends on container size, cargo type, and storage conditions. The numbers below are per side of the container:
- 10ft container: Use 2 moisture traps per side
- 20ft container: Use 3 moisture traps per side
- 40ft container: Use 6 moisture traps per side
These numbers are general guidelines for typical mixed cargo or storage conditions.
Why It Varies
Cargo Type:
- High-moisture cargo (timber, textiles, paper, leather) releases more moisture → you may need extra traps.
- Dry or sealed goods (electronics, metals, furniture) produce less moisture → you might use fewer traps.
Climate:
- Hot, humid conditions fill traps faster → add more for longer coverage.
- Cold, dry conditions require fewer traps.
Storage Duration:
- The longer the container is sealed, the more moisture you’ll need to manage.
Where should air vents be installed on a shipping container?
For the best results, we recommend installing air vents high up on the container side wall, close to the roof line. This helps maximise airflow and reduce condensation build-up. With our large aluminium air vents, positioning them high on the container also helps protect against water ingress, as the container's top side rail (lip) provides additional coverage from rain and the elements.
Lighting And Lighting Accessories
How Long Does The 20W Solar Light Take To Charge?
The 20W Solar Light features a high-efficiency 12.5W mono-crystalline solar panel and can typically achieve a full charge in approximately 5 hours of strong sunlight. Charging times may vary depending on weather conditions and the time of year.
Is The 6W LED Motion Sensor Light Suitable For Shipping Containers?
Yes. The 6W LED Motion Sensor Light is specifically suited to shipping containers, storage units, workshops, sheds, and other areas where convenient, wireless lighting is required. Its motion-activated design helps improve visibility and safety while conserving battery power when the area is not in use.
Is The Utility Pole Compatible With All Shipping Containers?
Yes. The utility pole is designed to fit standard ISO shipping container corner castings, allowing it to be securely mounted without drilling, welding, or permanent modifications.
What Can Be Mounted To The Utility Pole?
The utility pole is designed to support a wide range of equipment, including floodlights, solar lights, CCTV cameras, motion sensors, warning lights, and other site security or lighting accessories.
Doors And Windows
Do I need to weld the Self Drilling Shipping Container Door to my container?
No. The Self Drilling Shipping Container Door is specifically designed to be installed without welding. Unlike traditional container personnel doors, it can be fitted directly to the container using its self-drilling design, helping to reduce installation time, labour costs, and the need for specialist fabrication work. This makes it an ideal solution for container conversions, workshops, site offices, and secure storage applications.
Can shipping container windows and doors be mounted onto a traditional building?
Even though not advised, in some cases Yes. windows and doors designed for shipping containers can be installed in traditional buildings, but it requires proper adaptation. Shipping container windows and doors are built for steel walls and may have non-standard sizes, frame depths, and mounting methods. To use them in a normal building (wood, brick, or concrete), you’ll typically need:
- to bridge the size and depth differences.
- to prevent leaks and thermal bridging.
- to ensure the surrounding wall can bear the load and maintain integrity.
Please be aware our knowledge goes as far as shipping container installation, we would encourage you seeking advise from a professional. A professional installer or contractor familiar with both container construction and traditional buildings should assess your project to ensure compatibility and compliance with local building codes.
Are the Aluminium Shipping Container Windows suitable for shipping containers?
Yes. Our Aluminium Shipping Container Windows are specifically designed for use in shipping containers, container conversions, site offices, workshops, garden rooms, and modular buildings. They provide a professional finish while improving natural light and ventilation.
