Importance of Levelling Your Container -
Structural Integrity - Shipping containers are built with a robust, rectangular structure. When loaded with cargo, the majority of the weight is supported by the four corners. However, if these corners are not level, the container may become twisted or warped. Common indicators of structural damage include cracked walls and doors that fail to close properly.
Proper Door Function - The door is a critical component of a shipping container, providing both access and protection for its contents against theft, pests, and water damage. However, if the container is not level, the door may become misaligned, making it difficult to open, close, or lock securely.
Prevent Foundation Problems - Preventing foundation issues is essential for shipping containers. When a container is not level, it can begin to settle unevenly into the ground over time, worsening its imbalance. This can lead to costly repairs to re-level or reinforce the foundation, as well as address any resulting warping or structural damage to the container itself.
Long-Term Stability - Long-term stability is crucial for shipping containers. If they are not properly levelled, they may shift over time, causing damage to both the foundation and the container's structure. This movement can also pose a safety hazard, as sudden shifts could result in injuries.
Installation:
1) Measure and mark out exactly where your corner casters are going to sit on the ground.
2) Ensure the levelling pads will be situated on a solid level surface. They can also be fixed to the ground if the circumstances are necessary.
3) Adjust the levelling pad to the required height by twisting the mechanism. The pole can also be cut down to size if a smaller height adjustment is necessary.
4) Carefully position the container on to the levelling pad.
